ERFURT (dpa-AFX) – The Federal Labor Court in Erfurt will deal with the question of who can request information from their employer in the dispute over equal pay on Thursday (11:00 a.m.). For the first time, it has brought a complaint to the Remuneration Transparency Act, which has been in place since mid-2017, to the highest labor court.
Specifically, it is about whether the self-employed, who work primarily for an employer, have information rights about the payment of colleagues with comparable tasks. Women often have doubts that they get the same money as male colleagues. The so-called employee-like employees are not explicitly mentioned in the law as entitled to information. The federal labor judges could now fill this gap.
The employee of a television station sued. The State Labor Court of Berlin-Brandenburg denied their right to information, but approved the appeal to the Federal Labor Court./rot/DP/nas
