The decision is intended to give participants the assurance that they will continue to be available, it said in a statement released in Washington on Tuesday. The economy, which continues to suffer from the pandemic, should be helped in this way. The emergency credit programs have so far been rather hesitant.

The extension applies to seven of the nine programs launched. The program for the municipalities was set up from the beginning to the end of the year. The commercial paper program runs until March 17, 2021. The statement was released prior to the start of the Fed’s two-day rate meeting.
