US Stock Exchange close down; Dow Jones Industrial Average falls 0.46%

The US Stock Exchange closed with declines this Friday; the setbacks in the oil and gas, consumer services, and basic materials sectors drove the indexes down.

At the close in New York, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.46%, while the S&P 500 was down 0.29%, and the NASDAQ Composite was left 0.27%.

The best value of the session at the Dow Jones Industrial Average was Pfizer Inc (NYSE: PFE ), with a rise of 1.54%, 0.60 points, to stand at 39.49 at the close. They are followed by Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: KO ), which advanced 0.34%, 0.19 points, to close at 55.53, and UnitedHealth Group Incorporated (NYSE: UNH ), which rose 0.31%, 0.91 points, until the session was dismissed at 295.13.

At the tail of the index ended Boeing Co (NYSE: BA ), which fell 1.91%, that is, 6.42 points, to close at 329.92. The Travelers Companies Inc (NYSE: TRV ), meanwhile, cut 1.53%, 2.11 points, and closed at 135.51, while Dow Inc (NYSE: DOW ) yielded 1.32%, 0 , 69 points, to finish at 51.50.

At the head of the S&P 500 we see Nektar Therapeutics (NASDAQ: NKTR ), which rose 24.69%, to 26.92; Lennar Corporation (NYSE: LEN ), up 3.52%, closing at 59.72, and Tyson Foods Inc (NYSE: TSN ), which scored 3.04%, to finish at 91.92.

The red lantern of the index was Harley-Davidson Inc (NYSE: HOG ), which fell 3.92%, to 34.84 at the end of the session. He was accompanied in the lower part of the IPG Photonics Corporation (NASDAQ: IPGP ) table , with a decrease of 3.13%, which was dismissed in 135.27, as well as Arconic Inc (NYSE: ARNC ), which subtracted a 3 , 09% to say goodbye at 28.85 at the end of the session.

The CBOE Volatility Index , which measures the volatility of the S&P 500 options, rose 0.16% to 12.56.

Gold futures for February delivery rose 0.57%, 8.90, to $ 1,563.20 a troy ounce. As for the other raw materials, crude oil futures for delivery in February fell 0.74%, 0.44, to remain at $ 59.12 a barrel, while Brent oil futures for delivery in March fell back 0.46%, 0.30, up to $ 65.07 a barrel.

The EUR / USD rose 0.14%, to 1,1121, while the USD / JPY, meanwhile, cut 0.03% to 109.47.

The dollar index fell 0.09%, to 97,075.
