The huge number of customers in the first half of 2020 has weakened significantly. After around 25 million new subscribers to the streaming service in the first six months of the year, only 2.2 million paid subscriptions were added in the third quarter. The profit, which rose by 19 percent year-on-year to the equivalent of 668 million euros, disappointed expectations. After the figures were announced, the share fell by around five percent.
The decline in customer growth is certain also in the intensified competition. Netflix is required, because in addition to Amazon Prime and Hulu, Walt Disney is also increasingly focusing on the streaming segment with Disney +. Experts point out that Netflix, as the global market leader, is able to assert itself against the growing competition thanks to the previous record sales.
Chance: The strong market position is
a huge advantage in the reinforced
Competition. The setback
is an entry opportunity.
