BERLIN (dpa-AFX) – In Germany, more than 139,900 infections with the new corona virus had been registered by Saturday afternoon (previous day at 4:15 p.m .: more than 136,900 infections). At least 4,249 people infected with the Sars-CoV-2 pathogen have reportedly died nationwide so far (previous day at 4:15 p.m .: 4020). This is the result of an evaluation by the German Press Agency, which takes into account the latest figures from the federal states.
The time when a new daily status is reported varies from state to state. In addition, some of the federal states do not always report their numbers at the same time. Several Germans died abroad in connection with a corona infection.
According to estimates by the Robert Koch Institute, around 85,400 people in Germany have survived the infection. As in other countries, experts also expect a high number of unrecorded cases in Germany.
According to the statistics of the federal states, Bavaria has particularly high numbers of registered infections with more than 37 200 proven cases and at least 1226 deaths, North Rhine-Westphalia with more than 29 100 cases and at least 862 deaths and Baden-Württemberg with more than 27 300 confirmed cases and at least 922 dead.
