The euro resumed on Thursday the slight upward trend that began last Monday and although for the first time in a week it reached the threshold of $ 1.11, it ended up closing once more slightly below that brand.
The single currency was changed at 4:00 p.m. GMT to $ 1,1099, compared to $ 1,1091 in the last hours of the European trading of the foreign exchange market of the previous day.
The fluctuation band of the European currency against the US currency fluctuated throughout the day between a minimum of 1,1082 and a maximum of $ 1,1100
Being a holiday, the European Central Bank (ECB) did not update on Thursday the reference exchange rate of the euro, which last Tuesday had been set at $ 1.1080.
Due to the Christmas and New Year holidays and the consequent lack of stimuli, the single currency is expected to maintain a relatively apathetic course at least until the end of next week.
